Asus has launched the ROG Phone 5 smartphone in India. The new gaming phone will be available in three different models, including the regular ROG Phone 5, ROG Phone 5 Pro and ROG Phone 5 Ultimate (Limited). All three models come with a 144Hz Samsung AMOLED display, which is 23 percent brighter than the ROG Phone 3.
The ROG Phone 5 is equipped with Qualcomm Snapdragon 888. There is a difference of RAM especially among the three models. The regular ROG Phone 5 will be available in 8 GB and 12 RAM options, while the ROG Phone 5 Pro will come with 16 GB RAM and ROG Phone 5 Ultimate 18 GB RAM.
Asus ROG Phone 5: Basic Specification
The Asus ROG Phone 5 smartphone supporting Dual Nano SIM works on the Android 11 based ROG UI and GenUI custom interfaces. The phone comes with 6.78-inch full-HD Plus (1,080x2,448 pixels) AMOLED display with 20.4: 9 aspect ratio, 144Hz refresh rate and peak brightness up to 1,200nits. The display also includes DC dimming support and is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus.
The ROG Phone 5 is equipped with an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 processor, Adreno 660 GPU and LPDDR5 RAM up to 18 GB. The phone also includes an all-new thermal design called GameCool. Similar to last year's ROG Phone 3, the ROG Phone 5 also comes with Airtrigger 5, dual front-firing speakers, multi-antenna Wi-Fi and quad-mic noise-cancellation. It will also get ultrasonic buttons for enhanced gaming experience. Apart from this, the ROG Phone 5 Ultimate also includes two additional capacitive areas on the back cover.
The Asus ROG Phone 5 comes with a triple rear camera setup that includes a 64-megapixel primary Sony IMX686 sensor with f / 1.8 lens, a 13-megapixel secondary sensor with f / 2.4 ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 5-megapixel The macro shooter is included. The phone has a 24-megapixel selfie camera with f / 2.45 lens.
The ROG Phone 5 has up to 512 GB of UFS 3.1 onboard storage, it cannot be extended with a microSD card but does support external HDD. Connectivity options include 5G, 4G, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS / A-GPS, NFC, USB Type-C port (one on the bottom and one on the side), and a 3.5mm headphone jack. It also has a pogo pin connector to connect accessories.
Like the ROG Phone 3, Asus has provided an RGB light under the ROG logo on the back of the ROG Phone 5. On the other hand ROG Phone 5 Pro model has ROG Vision Color PMOLED Display and ROG Phone Ultimate model has ROG Vision Monochrome PMOLED Display. PMOLED displays support customized graphics on both ROG phone models.
Asus ROG Phone 5 has a dual-cell 6,000mAh battery that supports 65W fast charging. The dimensions of the phone are 172.8x77.2x10.29 mm and its weight is 238 grams.
